Veil of the Essence Founder Fatima’s Story:

My journey with modesty began in September 2024. As I started exploring the hijab, I found clarity and conviction in the Quranic verses commanding Muslim women to cover. My decision was made, but the path wasn't easy. Doubts whispered that I looked better with my hair out, but with Allah's help and patience, I found my strength.

The true spark for Veil of the Essence came from a personal dilemma: my cousin's wedding. It was my first major event in hijab, and I couldn't find anything to wear. In our community, weddings call for flashy, elegant outfits, and the anxiety of not fitting in was real. I didn't want to stand out for the wrong reasons.

So, I created my own solution. I pieced together three different items to craft an outfit that was both modest and beautifully elegant. That day, instead of feeling out of place, I was met with a question repeated by many: “Where did you buy that?” My answer "I created it myself!" planted a seed.

I realised I wasn't the only one struggling to find stylish, occasion‑worthy modest wear. Many women were searching for luxury modest fashion, special occasion abayas, and modest evening wear that felt refined and true to their values. That moment of need grew into a mission: to help other women feel confident, elegant, and truly themselves, without compromising their faith or style.

After months of dedication, Veil of the Essence was launched on September 1, 2025, alhamdulillah. Guided by faith, what started as a personal quest has blossomed. We now bring together luxury abayas, abaya and cape sets, and pieces made with premium fabrics and hand‑crafted details. We are humbled to be onboarding our first two international brands in early 2026.

This journey has taught me that when you turn your passion into a service for others, it becomes more than a business. I am endlessly grateful to Allah Azzawajal for making this path possible and for every sister we are here to serve.
